I truly can’t say enough good things about Carrie. Carrie is one of the most caring, kindhearted, compassionate, and knowledgeable Care Coordinators [concierge] I have ever met. She's extremely resourceful and if she doesn't know the answer, she always seems to know a good person to call on when you need help. She has helped me so much with my mom and dad over the last several years. I would highly recommend going with [CareUnit.us] Carrie's services, because she'll do everything in her power to never let you down. [One example] I was faced with the very difficult task of moving my parents from Independent living to an Assisted Living Facility and her team helped me clean their place, organize and downsize, and physically move their stuff and completely organize and set-up their new place.

Carrie in one word, exceptional. She is kind, compassionate and extremely educated in all things ALF, advocating, senior care, healthcare, family and planning related and more. At a point in our life, when just breathing felt overwhelming, my fiancé and I stumbled across Carrie and what a pleasant surprise she was. After losing a parent and discovering the widow had been suffering from an undiagnosed disease, we felt very lost as to what to do or where to turn. With Carrie’s help our mom is now living in an assisted living facility and receiving the best care to slow the progression of her disease. Carrie acted as our personal tour guide, and we are eternally grateful for all the countless phone calls, advice, and in-person check-ups on mom when we couldn’t be there. We truly believe without Carrie’s assistance we would not be anywhere close to the comfortable point in life we are at now. If we had to do it all over again our only wish would be to have met Carrie sooner. She will forever be a part of our lives. If you’re looking for someone who is going to care about your loved one the way you do, you’ve found her, it’s Carrie.

I met Carrie Dunkley three years ago when I was trying to find a place for my mom after the doctors said she could no longer live alone in her house. It was a real challenge since my mom lived in Ft. Myers and I live in Miami and I am her only child.  I didn’t know what to do or how I would get her settled in anywhere safe.

After visiting several Assisted Living facilities, I met Carrie. I met up with Carrie three times and she was totally amazing.  Her professionalism and sincere interest in helping my mom and me was a God-sent.  She knew exactly what we needed and facilitated my mom’s transition to assisted living where my mom has been for three years.  With her dedication and compassion, we convinced my mom to move in, which happened 5 days before the Covid shutdown.  I am eternally grateful because if it wasn’t for Carrie’s commitment to helping us, I really don’t know what I would have done.

Carrie has continued to be a part of our lives and we consider her part of our family.  She continuously checks up on us to be sure Mom is happy and safe.

Trying to take care of your senior parent is not an easy thing but when you have someone like Carrie on your team and by your side, it is less stressful.  Carrie Dunkley is the lady you should have in your corner to make life a little easier, making tough decisions for your elderly parent.

I wanted to share my experience and feedback of having worked with Carrie Dunkley. I had been helping my elderly parents for about two years – since the time that I retired back in March of 2019. I found that they were becoming increasingly dependent on me and that it was taking a toll on my mental health. I knew I needed to do something to provide me with some relief. So I was referred to Carrie by a local LCSW.

I contacted Carrie and she quickly set up a conference call between me, her and my older brother.  In our initial conversation, we immediately saw that Carrie was quick to understand and relate very well to our situation and offer suggestions and recommendations that we could implement.  Amongst her suggestions were:

1) Conducting an in-person meeting between Carrie, my parents and me where we would introduce her to my parents explain her role, and start building trust between them so that she could eventually decrease my parent’s dependence on me.

2) Instead of using multiple agencies to provide Home Health Aides for my parents, consolidating the Home Health Aides under one agency to provide consistency in caregivers.  The Agency she recommended ended up doing a very good job.

3) Carrie also offered to come over and help my parents whenever they needed anything no matter what it happened to be, especially on the days that I didn’t plan on going to their apartment.

Thus, I felt that we had a good plan in place to achieve the goal of reducing my parent’s dependence on me.  We were off to a good start and Carrie was doing an excellent job of eliminating the mental stress I had been feeling as she was fielding calls from my parents and handling issues as they arose.  However, after a few weeks, my parents decided that my father’s physical condition had improved so much that they no longer needed an overnight Home Health Aide and thus reduced their help to just 3 days a week from 8am till noon.

Even though we didn’t get the chance to work for an extended period of time, I feel very strongly about Carrie’s competence and background that I would recommend her services to anyone having issues dealing with their elderly parent(s). She is very knowledgeable, very flexible, very responsive and attentive.
